To ensure the uniform understanding of DENR employees at the regional level of the mandates of EMB in enforcing Presidential Decree 1586 (Phil. Impact Statement System), RA 8749 (Phil. Clean Air Act), RA 6969 (Toxic and Hazardous and Nuclear Control Wastes Act), RA 9275 (Phil. Clean Water Act), RA 9003 (Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000), and RA 9512 (Environmental Awareness Act of 2008), EMB Caraga through the Environmental Education and Information Unit (EEIU) organized a webinar on environmental laws via Microsoft Teams on June 15-17, 2021.

This activity was attuned to the DENR Administrative Order (DA) 2018-18, entitled “Establishing a Centralized Management and Coordinative Mechanism at the Regional Offices of DENR, MGB, and EMB, and Designating the DENR Regional Director as the Regional Executive Director Providing Overall Command of the Regional Operations.”. It was issued by Secretary Roy A. Cimatu.

The webinar was organized into three batches, with DENR Regional Office and PENRO-Dinagat Islands as the first batch, ADN and ADS as the second batch, SDN and SDS as the third batch. Aside from the technical personnel, some PENR and CENR Officers also took part in the said webinar.

In a message of OIC Regional Director, Engr. Albert G. Arcamo, he emphasized the importance for employees at the regional level and field offices of DENR to fully understand the mandates of EMB in order to promote proper and smooth coordination especially when it comes to the laws’ enforcement aspect. ###
