EMB Caraga through the Environmental Education and Information Unit (EEIU) organized Talakayan para sa Kalikasan on June 10, 2021.

The activity dubbed as TalaKalikasan was organized for the Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) leaders of different elementary and secondary schools in Caraga. Talakalikasan was done as part of the Bureau’s celebration of the Philippine Environment Month. But, aside from that, it also served as a platform in teaching the youth about the importance of the environment to our survival, reviving their energies, and allowing them to create eco-friendly initiatives in and outside their respective school premises.

Engr. Albert G. Arcamo, the OIC Regional Director, cited in his message that EMB Caraga took this opportunity to raise environmental consciousness among Caraganon youth. He also said, “Our future and our next generation are at stake when current forms of destruction and abuses to our planet will continue. The opportunity to educate people so that their understanding on this concern will deepen may bring behavioral changes that will have a positive impact to our environment.”

He further expressed gratefulness to Mr. Angelito A. Bombarda, Jr. (Project Assistant Community Engagement Desk of the Communication Foundation for Asia), Ms. Grace N. Alburo (Sustainable and Eco-Friendly Schools0, and Ecological Solis Waste Management Coordinator), and Ms. Catherine M. Gonzaga (Communications Development Officer II and Regional Youth Desk Officer of DENR Caraga) for serving as the resource persons of the said event. ###
